Ode To My Sister

A Pocketful of Time (8)

Beware of the sister

Offend her at own risk

She’s little but she’s fierce

A fire cracking whip

She’s all for human rights

For women’s rights

Animals too

She ‘s the splash of vegan sunshine

In the stinking politic poo

She’s a listener

She’s a helper

She champions me daily

Her smile is rainbow colours

She is far from ordinary

I’m not afraid to use her

She’s on my shoulder

Watching on

She’s part of the Resistance

That let’s me know when something’s wrong

She quotes the great texts

P & P, Lano and Woodley too

She is punny in her wordings

And the words she speaks are true

She’s a fighter

Fuelled on coffee

In her cup all dottery

When God handed out sisters

It’s pretty plain – I won the lottery
