Kat Buttigieg has wanted to be a writer since she was six years old. Though her life has been a twisty and interesting path of travelling, teaching and becoming a mum, writing has always featured in her life in the form of stories, poems, songs or blogging. In 2018 she took the leap to start her own copywriting business, Macedon Ranges Writers, and then in 2019, a local tourism and community blog, Macedon Ranges Mumma.
Kat is a staunch supporter of her local area and enjoys assisting locals with their writing needs and finding fun and affordable family activities. She has volunteered for the local Gisborne Gazette, the Chamber Poets Collective, and has recently begun facilitating creative writing lessons for young writers. In her free time, which is few and far between with three busy children of her own, she enjoys making music, reading popular fiction and watching BBC historical fictions series.
Kat is currently pitching her novel manuscript, chapter book and picture books to publishers. She loves being able to write every day as her job and hopes to inspire young writers to do the same.
