LESSONS AND WORKSHOPS
Kat runs one hour creative writing lessons for children aged 7 to 14 years old at Macedon Ranges Wholefoods in Gisborne during term time on Thursdays from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm. If your child is interested (even if Thursday does not suit you), please get in contact. Classes are capped to 12 students and there are limited spaces available but another class may be added if there is enough interest.
Kat studied Creative Writing and English Literature at the University of Melbourne, is a qualified English teacher, and has extensive experience in the writing industry as a copywriter, content writer,. editor and blogger. She has been shortlisted and won state-wide competitions for her short stories and poetry, and been widely published online and in print publications such as the Daylesford Macedon Life Magazine, and is the current editor for her local community newspaper. Kat is passionate about assisting young writers in finding their version of writing success.
The investment is $20 when attending on a casual basis or $150 for a 10 week pre-paid term.

Past workshops have included:
Poetry Basics: From rhyming couplets to haiku, odes, pantouns, limericks and more, in this workshop students will undertake fun activities which will have them out of their seat, receive examples and templates for various types of poems and also look at common literary techniques used in poetry.
Short Story Editing: Students are encouraged to bring their work in process or completed short story to cut, shape and polish to then submit to the Winter Writing Competition (details coming soon).
Workshops are a $60 investment for 2 hours. All materials are provided.
